Jeffrey Spotts, CMT

General Partner, Portfolio Manager, Founder
- In May, 2001, Mr. Spotts launched Prophecy Asset Management, which oversees both Prophecy and Ascension funds.
- Jeffrey Spotts has over 17 years of experience providing portfolio management to corporations, institutions and high-net-worth clients. Mr. Spotts began his career in 1989 at Merrill Lynch. His portfolio management team was responsible for over $500 million of client assets under management. While at Merrill he also managed a discretionary hedged product* from 1999 to 2001.
- Mr. Spotts has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg Television and other media outlets. He has authored a book called “Master Traders” for Wiley Publications.
- He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University in Business Administration.
John Hughes
Age: 41
Portfolio Manager, Equity Analyst
- In June of 2005, Mr. Hughes joined Prophecy as a consultant and became head portfolio manager of the Prophecy Fund in February 2006.
- Mr. Hughes formed Epiphany Equity Research In January 2002, an independent provider of equity research and portfolio consulting.
- Prior to founding Epiphany, he spent 12 years at Shields & Co., a boutique NY based brokerage firm. He developed and managed the firm’s equity research department as well as co-managing the firms hedge fund product. He became a partner of the firm.
- Mr. Hughes has been developing practical and actionable and technical analysis tools during his career. He has appeared on CBS Marketwatch, CNBC, Small Cap Center, and BBC radio. Mr. Hughes is a guest lecturer at Fordham University’s graduate program speaking on various technical disciplines.
- He graduated Cum Laude from St. Joseph's University with a BS in Finance.
Anthony Bosco
Age: 32
Co-Portfolio Manager, Head Trader, Risk Manager
- Mr. Bosco has been with Prophecy in 2001 , His primary responsibilities include trade execution, risk management, portfolio analysis as well as statistical analysis. Daily studies of portfolio include trend exhaustion indicators, sponsorship studies, news/earnings coverage, net exposure, attribution and risk analysis.
- Mr. Bosco was part of Jeffrey Spotts team at Merrill Lynch for 3 years prior to joining Prophecy.
- Mr. Bosco graduated from Saint Michaels College of Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1998.
Philip S. Beer
Age: 41
President, Chief Compliance Officer, Fund Operations
- Mr. Beer has been with Prophecy since April 2002. At Prophecy, he manages both the day-to-day and long-range operations. Mr. Beer’s responsibilities include strategic planning, interface with all non-trading professionals, budgeting, vendor negotiations and oversight of all marketing efforts.
- Mr. Beer has an extensive business management and entrepreneurial background, having co-founded both an interactive game company and a real estate technology firm.
- Mr. Beer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989.
